DescriptionThe UT Southern Firehawks, competing in the Southern States Athletic Conference, have 19 nationally competitive athletic teams. The Softball Assistant Coach will assist the Head Coach with all day to day activities to run the athletic sport program. The assistant will also be tasked with running the junior varsity program (if applicable) in all aspects, including recruiting and games.
Responsibilities
- Assistant coach will be expected to attend all varsity team practices, conditioning and games.
- Responsible for coordinating game day logistics.
- Ability to do maintenance tasks including field/court routine cleaning (field tasks such as cutting grass, weed prevention, weed eating, etc.)
- All other duties as assigned including teaching activity courses (when applicable).
- The assistant coach will be tasked with running the junior varsity team in all aspects of the program.
- Responsible for team study tables and academic progress.
- Responsible for team social media accounts.
- Assist the Head Coach in recruiting highly competitive student athletes that will thrive under the UT
- Southern culture that encompasses "WINNING" in the classroom, venue and in the community.
QualificationsMinimum Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- CPR and AED Certification
- 1 year of coaching experience as head or assistant coach at High School, NAIA, NCAA, or NJCAA level or 2 years of coaching experience as a graduate assistant
Preferred Requirements
- Master's Degree
- Collegiate playing experience
