Job Description: The person in this position will assist the Head Athletic Trainer in overseeing all athletic training services that support varsity sports at the university. Specifically, the individual will provide emergency response, injury evaluation, rehabilitative programs, and documentation of care for athletically-related activities involving student-athletes.

Responsibilities:
- Administers clinical care in a manner consistent with the instructions of a physician or clinical management protocols while keeping informed of contemporary trends, tactics, techniques, and strategies within the field.
- Provides medical coverage for home varsity events and practices as assigned and supplies emergency response, injury evaluation, rehabilitative programs, and documentation of care for athletically-related activities involving student-athletes.
- Receives, disseminates, and monitors health and safety legislation, resources, and inter-association recommendations.
- Communicates directly with coaching staff members and student-athletes to keep them apprised of injuries and rehabilitation programs. Works in conjunction with Arcadia's Athletics Healthcare Administrators and other medical professionals (as appropriate) to determine the return-to-play decisions for college athletes.
- Coordinates on-campus health services (student health services, counseling), and off-campus health services through relationships with area healthcare specialist and visits from team physician.
- Manages the maintenance of medical records and associated clinical records.
- Contributes to the overall success of the Athletics Department by performing all other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Responsibilities may include assigned administrative tasks, committee work, or representing the Athletics Department at conferences/meetings.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in athletic training or related field from accredited college or university is required.
- Master's degree in athletic training or related field is strongly preferred.
Experience:
- Previous athletic training experience at collegiate level strongly preferred.
- Experience and knowledge in the use of appropriate therapeutic modalities.
Skills:
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills, whether dealing with individuals or groups, and an ability to work well with different constituents.
- Strong initiative, detail, and follow-up skills with student-athletes, staff members, and administration.
- Demonstrated leadership, vision, personnel, and management skills.
- Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to set and achieve or exceed goals and meet deadlines.
- Ability to learn and apply University policies and procedures to ensure operational compliance and reliable judgement.
- General computer knowledge with a proficiency in Word and Excel.
Special Requirements:
- NATA BOC certification required. Maintenance of certification through continuing education units.
- Must be able to obtain Pennsylvania state athletic training license immediately.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel for games expected.
- Early morning, evening, and weekend availability is required.
- Flexibility with an evolving work environment is important.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Ability to successfully complete a background check, motor vehicle check, and drug test.
- Current CPR, AED, and first aid certifications required. Training and recertification can be provided if necessary.
- Compliance with NCAA Division III rules and regulations required.
- Compliance with athletic conference rules and regulations required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to demonstrate and teach sport-specific skills required.
- Ability to move about campus and other locations.
- Physical ability to include standing and/or walking for long periods, bending, kneeling and stooping, manual dexterity, and ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.

- Received: Position reports to the Head Athletic Trainer.
- Given: Supervises student interns and undergraduate/graduate student employees.
