About the role:

The Seasonal Coach will be responsible for coaching and mentoring student-athletes during the designated sports season. The coach will focus on skill development, teamwork, and fostering a positive, inclusive environment that will contribute to their development as mature, able, and responsible Christians to the praise and glory of God in keeping with the Mission Statement.

Essential Functions:

• Must give testimony and evidence of a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and sense the call of God to a serving ministry.
• Lead daily practices, drills, and skill-building sessions for athletes. Develop and implement practice plans that enhance both individual and team performance. Provide technical instruction and guidance on the sport, helping athletes improve their skills.
• Prepare and organize athletes for competitions, including warm-ups, strategy sessions, and team logistics.
• Familiarity with and enforcement of school, league, and state athletic policies.
• Develop and oversee in-season, off-season, and developmental programs.
• Provide mentorship, ensuring athletes grow in skill, character, and academics. Monitor grades, conduct,      and eligibility of student-athletes. Support student-athletes with college and career planning.
• Recruit and oversee student managers, assistants, and statisticians.
• Promote the program within the school and community while adhering to FHSAA standards.
• Oversee the team during home and away games and events, ensuring safety, proper behavior, and adherence to all school policies.
• Establish and maintain open communication with players, parents, and school administration regarding team progress, schedules, and any concerns.
• Ensure that all athletes are properly equipped and adhere to safety standards during practices and games. Respond to injuries in a timely and professional manner, seeking medical attention when necessary.
• Work in cooperation with all levels of management, support staff, personnel, church leaders, volunteers, members and guests to fulfil the mission of Indian Rocks

• A collaborative, supportive leader that shows humility, drive, emotional intelligence, positivity, and loyalty to the IRCS vision and mission
• Previous coaching experience as well as strong knowledge of the sport and ability to teach fundamental skills.
• Certifications: NFHS Coaching Principles, Sudden Cardiac Awareness, and Heat Illness. CPR and First Aid.
• Must be able to travel for away games and events as required.
• Physical demands include demonstrating skills, running drills, and occasionally lifting sports equipment.
• Excellent communication skills, both with athletes and school administration.
• Ability to motivate, inspire, and connect with student-athletes.
• The individual must stay updated on training requirements and communicate changes to the Supervisor and Human Resources Director. It is the staff member’s responsibility to remain current with current standards.
• A consistent Christian lifestyle, along with active membership at Indian Rocks, attending worship services, participating in a Life Group, serving in a ministry, and supporting stewardship in faithful tithing
