Job Summary:
The High School ELA Teacher is responsible for developing students’ literacy skills through instruction in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The teacher will plan and implement engaging lessons aligned with Arkansas Academic Standards for ELA (Grades 9–12), assess student performance, and provide support to ensure academic success for all learners.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and deliver engaging and standards-based instruction in literature, composition, grammar, and vocabulary.

Utilize a variety of instructional strategies and technologies to address diverse learning styles and needs.

Prepare lesson plans that align with Arkansas Academic Standards and district curriculum frameworks.

Assess and evaluate student progress using formative and summative assessments.

Maintain accurate and timely records of student performance and communicate regularly with parents/guardians.

Implement classroom management strategies that promote a positive and respectful learning environment.

Support school-wide literacy initiatives and participate in curriculum development.

Collaborate with colleagues in professional learning communities (PLCs) and attend staff meetings and training sessions.

Differentiate instruction for students with IEPs, 504 Plans, and English Learners as needed.

Uphold school and district policies, including those related to student discipline, equity, and safety.
