HS Assistant Football Coach

Stipend Amount: Starts at $1,809/year; follows coaching salary schedule

Supervisor: Head Football Coach and Athletic Director

Estimated time commitment:   10-25 hours per week, depending on game schedule (The official season is August 11 through November 1, but there will be some practices during the summer.) 

Detailed description of duties/responsibilities:

  • Teach fundamental skills, theory and strategy of football with emphasis on safety
  • Attend practices Monday-Friday 4-7 pm during regular season and participate in some Saturday film sessions. Be willing to travel with the team to different locations for games.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail.
  • Focus on building a positive TEAM environment
  • Promote physical fitness, teamwork and sportsmanship
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Lead in offense coordination and training
  • Complete the coach certifications required by CHSAA and the school district
  • Assist the head coach with off-season training as needed and when available
  • Other duties as assigned by the head coach

Special qualifications, if any:

  • Experience coaching, especially with high school athletes, preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of the game of football
