Kent Place School seeks a Middle School Assistant Basketball Coach for the 2025-2026 season.

Hours: 2:30-3:30 pm Mon, Tues, Wed, and Friday(games may finish later and can occur on Thursdays)

Season: Winter (11/10/25-2/27/26)

Requirements:

  • Prior coaching/playing experience at the collegiate level preferred; experience at the high school level required.
  • Understand the fundamentals of the game of basketball.
  • Educate and coach student-athletes in basketball; instruct players regarding the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
  • Provide leadership that promotes positive attitudes and good sportsmanship.
  • Must have excellent communication skills and strong administrative skills.
  • Communicates and enforces policies, procedures, and training rules as they pertain to the team.
  • Plan and communicate with coaches regarding practice sessions and competition strategies that ensure the health and physical well-being of student-athletes.
  • Maintain, along with coaches, the proper supervision of student-athletes at practices, games, and on school-provided transportation.
  • Model sports-like behavior and maintain appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators.
  • Determine game strategy based on the team's capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with others.
  • Organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Possess and demonstrate cultural competency to ensure interactions with students, colleagues, and other constituencies highlight awareness, competence, and sensitivity.
  • Attend a mandatory preseason training session with the Athletic Department.
  • Participate in special activities, awards nights, admission panels, open houses, and pep assemblies.
  • Complete all coaching accreditation modules and KPS training.
