HEAD COACH: Women's Soccer

Lakeland Community College is seeking applications for a Women's Head Soccer Coach.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of a National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II team while adhering to college, conference, and NJCAA rules and regulations.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Successfully recruit academically and athletically qualified student-athletes
  • Plan and conduct practices and game day preparations
  • In consultation with the athletic director, develop a game schedule and organize travel for away competitions
  • Assist with the retention program for student athletes
  • Fundraise within the program
  • Develop and organize camps and clinics
  • Work with athletics staff in facility scheduling

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Sport-specific knowledge (e.g., skills, training techniques, rules)
  • Ability to coach, teach and train student-athletes in skills and strategies related to competition
  • Strong leadership skills
  • Ability to motivate in a positive manner
  • Ability to mentor, maintain discipline, and instill respect and standards of behavior
  • Excellent communication and public relations skills

QUALIFICATIONS:

An Associate's degree from an accredited institution is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a head coach and/or assistant coach in a college/high school; club coaching experience may be substituted for college/high school/ experience. CPR/First Aid/AED certification required (arrangements can be made for this to be obtained via training provided by the college).

CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT: This is a part-time, salaried position with 80% of the annual (July-June) salary paid between September - May.  The starting annual salary is dependent upon experience with the maximum possible being $9,039
