Teacher-
Primary Purpose:
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences designed to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Teach the District curriculum and actively participate in the curriculum alignment/development process. Enable students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully in society.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor's degree from accredited university.
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned or approved alternative certification.
ESL Certified
Special Knowledge/Skills:
General knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
Knowledge of subjects assigned.
Ability to research and develop teaching units.
Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Experience
Student teaching or approved internship.

Coach-
Primary Purpose:
Successfully coach assigned sport allowing students to excel and develop proper skills and attitudes while following guidelines of Head Coach.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree.
Valid Texas teaching certificate
Valid Texas Class B Drivers License
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Experienced as a player or coach
Positive background in athletics.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
1. Work with training staff to ensure the physical welfare of all participants.
2. Follow rules of the UIL and the Gonzales ISD.
3. Dress professionally for both workout and contests.
4. Follow guidelines of Director of Athletics, Head Coach, and Coordinator.
5. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Athletics.
6. Supervise athletic contests and practices to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, and good sportsmanship.
7. Monitor and enforce student eligibility for extracurricular participation.
8. Accompany and supervise athletes on out-of-town trips.
9. Maintain proper communication with parents, students, principals, and teachers.
10. Compile and maintain all records that are required.
11. Responsible for striving to attain the objectives outlined for their specific level of competition.
12. Adhere to methods prescribed by the head coach.
13. Attend meetings and in-service programs held by the head coach.
14. Keep the Athletic Director or Head Coach of the sport informed about appropriate matters.
15. Cooperate and communicate with other coaches and school personnel in performance of their assignments.
16. Maintain a professional relationship with students, faculty and parents.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assistant coaches are responsible for monitoring students in the locker room, during workouts, on athletic trips, as well as until an athlete has been picked up by their parents.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk and stand. Occasionally the employee will sit and run. The employee will frequently bend or twist at the trunk while performing the duties of his job. The employee will frequently squat, kneel, reach above the head, reach forward and repeat the same hand motion many times while performing the duties of this job.
The specific vision requirements of the job include good depth perception and occasionally being able to see objects/persons at a distance. While performing the duties of the job, the employee frequently is required to hear the conversation in a quiet, as well as a noisy, environment and be able to communicate to the team in order to give directions.
