  •   St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School - The Woodlands - Soccer Coaching Openings - Fall 2025

St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School is currently seeking Coed JV & Varsity Soccer Coaches for the 2025 fall season. JV is a developmental soccer team and the Varsity is competitive.

More information about the position: The soccer season starts with practice on the first day of school, Tuesday 8/12/25. Practices are right after school on the field from 3:30-5:30 at SAOPCA. The teams usually practice 3-4 times a week. When the games begin in late August, the teams will normally practice twice and play twice a week. We are a part for the Greater Houston Catholic Athletic Association which is divided into a North and South division. We normally play away and home games against each of the schools in our division (St Anne TB, St Martha, Christ the Redeemer, St Edwards, Epiphany). So, there will be some travel involved. The players’ parents are responsible for their student athlete transportation to games. The soccer season runs from 8/12 to mid-October.

There is a wide range of skills with our student athletes. Some have some experience, but some do not. There are very few club players. But we have had some grades that have had many club players. It varies year by year. We do not cut student athletes. So, every student athlete that wants to play is able to make a team. As I said earlier, the JV team is developmental, learning strong fundamentals of the game of soccer is the goal and the Varsity team will strive to win the GHCAA Championship.

All coaches must fill out an Applitrack form on the Galveston-Houston Arch-Diocese website, complete the online Safe Environment Training and complete a series of required School Annual Trainings online – Bloodline Pathogens, First Aid & Sudden Illness, AED & CPR, Anaphylaxis & Epinephrine and Child Abuse & Neglect. This is a stipend only position.

It is important that the candidate has coaching/playing experience, is knowledgeable about the game, excellent communication skills, a good rapport with players and parents and mostly is a good Christian example for our student athletes.

If you are interested or know of someone who would be a good fit. Please contact SAOPCS Athletic Coordinator - Dale Quickel – 281-296-0300 ext. 181 or e-mail at dquickel@ap.school.
