Kent City High School is seeking qualified applicants for the Varsity Girls Golf Coaching Position for the 2025-2026 season.
What You Need:
Golf Coaching Experience
Leadership
An individual who will lead by example and strive to push each student-athlete to achieve excellence both in and out of the competitive arena:
- Demand self-discipline and excellence in the classroom from his/her student-athletes.
- Motivate student-athletes to continuously strive for excellence both during the season as well as in the off-season.
- Build strong relationships and address the unique needs of each individual team member.
- Lead by example, always conducting yourself in a professional manner, especially as it relates to game officials.
- Attend other events at Kent City Community Schools when able, supporting student-athletes throughout the year.
Communication
An individual who will communicate effectively with school administration/teachers, student-athletes, and parents:
- Work with the athletic office to determine transportation methods and departure times.
- Plan and conduct a pre-season parent meeting in coordination with all other winter sports.
- Communicate with each player regarding their role on the team throughout the season.
- Develop and distribute written team/program guidelines, calendars/schedules and other information related to the program.
- Post articles on our athletic website regarding results, awards, etc.
- Communicate results to local media and any other necessary organizations aimed at promoting high school student-athletes.
- Communicate equipment needs to the athletic director.
Organization
An individual with strong organization skills:
- Schedule, plan, and conduct all practice sessions.
- Aid in scheduling.
- Supervise the issuing, collecting, cleaning/repair, and storage of all equipment.
- Assist at all program events and help find volunteers to run lower level games at both the middle school and high school levels.
- Organize and conduct fundraisers as needed for additional equipment and other program needs.
Program Development
An individual who will bring a program-wide approach:
- Work collectively with all levels of participants and coaches (High School/Middle School/Youth)
- Offer off-season opportunities for strength and conditioning
- Provide opportunities for our student-athletes to improve their skills through the use of summer training (practices, scrimmages, camps, etc) and other off-season activities (player workouts and open gyms).
- Solicit help from assistant coaches and sub-varsity staff.
- Strive to improve coaching knowledge and techniques by attending clinics, meeting with other coaches, and researching best practices.
The above list is not all-inclusive, applicants will be expected to perform other necessary and customary coaching duties needed to run a first class program.
