Position Summary:
Triton is seeking a dedicated and experienced High School Hockey Coach to lead and develop our student-athletes on and off the ice. The ideal candidate will promote teamwork, discipline, sportsmanship, and academic excellence while building a competitive hockey program that reflects the school’s values and mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan, organize, and oversee all aspects of the hockey program, including practices, games, tournaments, and team events.
Provide skill development, tactical training, and game preparation appropriate to high school athletes.
Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful team culture.
Maintain open and effective communication with players, parents, school staff, and administrators.
Monitor academic performance and support student-athletes in balancing sports and academics.
Ensure player safety through proper supervision and adherence to athletic health and safety protocols.
Coordinate travel, equipment needs, and game scheduling in collaboration with the Athletic Director.
Comply with all school district policies and league or MIAA regulations
Qualifications:
Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school, club, or collegiate level.
Knowledge of hockey fundamentals, strategy, and conditioning.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
Ability to mentor and inspire student-athletes.
Must meet all district and state coaching certification requirements (e.g., CPR/First Aid, background check, coaching certification).
