POSITION TITLE: Varsity/Junior Varsity Assistant Football Coach (Job Description)

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Assist the head coach in planning, organizing, and conducting practices, training sessions, and competitions.
• Teach and reinforce sports specific skills, techniques, and team strategies.
• Supervised student athletes during practices, games, travel, and team activities.
• Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and positive character development.
• Provide encouragement, mentorship, and constructive feedback to student athletes.
• Assist with game preparation, opponent scouting, and in game coaching responsibilities.
• Help monitor student athlete performance, attendance, and academic progress. Ensure the safety and well-being of student athletes by following established safety procedures and protocols.
• Assist with setup, maintenance, inventory, and distribution of equipment and uniforms.
• Support compliance with league, school, organizational, and athletic department rules and policies.
• Communicate effectively with coaches, student athletes, parents, administrators, and officials.
• Assist with team logistics, scheduling, travel arrangements, and event coordination.
• Attend required meetings, practices, competitions, and professional development activities.

LOCATION: Columbia Borough High/Middle School – Hill Campus

STATUS: Seasonal

CONTRACT: Supplemental
