    Job Title: Assistant Coach Flag Football 

     

    Salary Range: $2,500 - $4,500

     

    Reports to: Athletic Director and High School Director (Principal)

     

    Summary: The Assistant Coach is responsible for guiding and mentoring student-athletes, supporting their skill development, and promoting teamwork, discipline, and a strong competitive spirit both on and off the field.

     

    Required Qualifications: 

     
    • Associate's degree from an accredited college or a minimum of 60 college credits

    • NJ Substitute Certification (iLearn can assist with application process)

     
    • Demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, using proper grammar and vocabulary.

    • Prior to employment, the following must be addressed:

     
    • Required to complete a criminal history background check to prove that the individual has not been convicted of a crime or a disorderly person’s offense in accordance with N.J.S.A 18A:6-7.1. 

    • Provide evidence that health is adequate to fulfill the job functions and responsibilities with reasonable accommodation pursuant to 42 U.S.C. 12101 and in accordance with N.J.A.C. 6A:32-6.2.

    • Pass the state-required Mantoux Intradermal Tuberculin Test as required by N.J.A.C. 6A:32-6.3.

     
    • A valid driver’s license is preferred.   

     

    Performance Responsibilities:

     

    The Assistant Coach shall:

     
    • Promote and uphold the vision, mission, and core values of iLearn Schools Inc. Athletics, ensuring alignment with the school's educational goals.

    • Support and implement all board policies and administrative directives with professionalism and fidelity.

    • Demonstrate the highest level of ethical and professional behavior in interactions with students, parents, staff, and external partners affiliated with the school community.

    • Comply fully with all applicable federal laws, New Jersey state education statutes and regulations, New Jersey Department of Education guidelines, and iLearn Schools Inc. policies, procedures, and contractual obligations.

    • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the rules, regulations, and expectations set forth by the charter school, the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association (NJSIAA), and other governing athletic bodies.

    • Assist the Varsity coach in the following areas: Plan, organize, and conduct high-quality practices that foster skill development, teamwork, conditioning, and sportsmanship.

    • Assist in developing competitive strategies, game plans, and training regimens appropriate to the student-athlete population and the varsity level of play.

    • Monitor student-athletes’ academic performance and collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to support their academic success.

    • Promote a positive team culture that values respect, responsibility, discipline, and leadership, both on and off the field.

    • Evaluate and develop student-athletes through honest, constructive feedback and continuous improvement plans.

    • Manage equipment inventory, uniforms, and facility use with care and accountability.

    • Ensure proper supervision of student-athletes during all team activities, including practices, games, travel, and team events.

    • Exhibit professional phone and communication etiquette when engaging with parents, guardians, community members, and external stakeholders.

    • Assist in the accurate collection and submission of required data for local, county, state, or federal reporting purposes.

    • Demonstrate a working knowledge of the school’s emergency response protocols and actively participate in safety drills and preparedness activities.

    • Follow all school and district safety policies and procedures, particularly in ensuring the safe participation of all student-athletes, including those with disabilities or other special needs.

    • Represent the school with professionalism at all athletic events, maintaining positive relationships with officials, opposing teams, and the greater community.

    • If asked, lead the  JV program as the head coach for those student-athletes ( Pay compensation for being JV head coach)
