Policy Statement:
The assistant coach is directly responsible to the head coach. With head coach approval the assistant coach is responsible to all aspects of the team as assigned by the head coach.
Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Duties as assigned to the head coach, when applicable.
2. Assist head coach in those duties the head coach may assign you.
3. Serve as junior varsity coach.
4. The fundamental responsibility of the assistant coach is to implement
the program developed by the head coach. In order to do this
effectively, the assistant coach should be well versed in the basic
fundamental skills in the sport he/she is coaching, and he/she should
be capable of applying sound teaching techniques when he/she is
giving instruction to the participants in the sport.
Supervision Received and Exercised:
The assistant coach is a staff employee who is directly responsible to the head coach.
The assistant coach shall establish lines of communication and cooperation with the following:
1. Central office
2. High school principal
3. Athletic director
4. Head coach
5. Students
6. Parents/community
