Wildorado ISD is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Head Basketball Coach to lead our basketball program. The coach will be responsible for organizing and overseeing all aspects of the basketball team, including practice planning, game strategy, player development, academic support, and fostering a positive team culture. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, communication skills, and a commitment to student-athlete growth both on and off the court.
Key Responsibilities:
•Plan and conduct practices, conditioning sessions, and games
•Teach basketball fundamentals, strategy, and sportsmanship
•Promote academic accountability and personal development among student-athletes
•Ensure compliance with school, district, and state athletic regulations
•Collaborate with athletic director, faculty, and parents to support team success
Qualifications:
•Prior coaching experience (preferably at the high school level)
•Strong leadership and organizational skills
•CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
•Teaching certification (preferred – or alternative certification program)
•CDL (preferred)
