Head Baseball Coach

POSITION TITLE:  Head Baseball Coach

JOB GOAL:

The Head Baseball Coach is responsible for leading the Stanley High School baseball program, including player development, team management, and coordination of practices and competitions. This individual will foster a positive and competitive environment that emphasizes sportsmanship, teamwork, and the academic success of student athletes.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Must meet requirements for coaching set by the North Dakota High School Activities Association (NDHSAA), including certification in CPR/First Aid and completion of required coaching courses.
2. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
3. Effective coaching techniques and skills.
4. Knowledge of the rules, regulations, strategies, and techniques of the sport.
5. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students.
6. Prior coaching experience is preferred but not required.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Plan, organize, and conduct effective practices and training sessions.
2. Teach fundamental skills, strategies, and game rules appropriate to the high school level.
3. Oversee the selection, instruction, and supervision of assistant coaches.
4. Balance competitive, academic, and social demands within the program.
5. Develop and demonstrate good public relations within the school and community.
6. Actively promote your sport and recruit participation.
7. Demonstrate good sportsmanship and establish guidelines for sportsmanship on the part of the players. Provide leadership and attitudes that produce positive competitive opportunities for the participants.
8. Provide an inventory of all equipment/uniforms as requested and file with the athletic director. Notify the athletic director of needed maintenance on all equipment, supplies, and facilities.
9. Provide the athletic and activities directors with a monthly schedule of all meetings, practices, games, and performances and report any changes as soon as possible.
10. Supervise all practices and locker rooms before and after practice.

1. Athletic Director
2. Building Principal
3. Superintendent

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

This position constitutes an employee at will for the Stanley Community Public School District.
