Position Title: Full-Time Head Field Hockey Coach/Athletic Administration Coordinator

Position Overview:The Head Field Hockey Coach and Athletic Administration Coordinator is expected to direct the day-to-day operation and development of the field hockey program at Albertus Magnus College.

As the Head Field Hockey Coach, this individual is accountable for building the requisite roster size and developing a student-athlete recruitment plan to ensure the long-term sustainability and competitiveness of an appropriate roster. The Head Coach implements a strength and conditioning program and plans for and manages practices and games. The Head Coach also must provide positive guidance to each student-athlete that fosters and develops the premise that athletics are an integral component of the student experience, and that athletic achievement must not come at the expense of academic success.

Additionally, this individual will serve in an administrative role as the department’s Athletic Administration Coordinator, providing general assistance in all facets of day-to-day operations.

This position may assume the title/role of Assistant Athletic Director or Senior Woman Administrator based on qualifications and experience

Essential Functions: Athletic Administration Coordinator

• Provide general support to the athletic department/Athletic Director related to daily operations and logistics.
• In conjunction with the Athletic Director and head coaches, research and identify potential prospects, alumni, friends, businesses, and sponsors to benefit department fundraising initiatives.
• In conjunction with the Athletic Director, identifies opportunities for additional revenue generation, including but not limited tothe  development of sport-specific fundraising clubs
• Point person for development of new initiatives, including but not limited to: alumni, family, and parent events, department-wide golf tournament, etc.
• Communicates regularly with Advancement staff and other campus faculty/staff regarding developing and ongoing programming.
• Collaborates with the Director of Athletics on all projects and initiatives to meet the department's goals and objectives.
• Creates an orientation program for new employees (full-time, part-time and graduate assistants) and maintains appropriate communication regarding department policies and procedures.
• Completes other projects and duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.

Head Field Hockey Coach

• Develops and implements a recruiting plan to achieve and maintain a roster size adequate for sponsorship of both Field Hockey, in accordance with the College’s enrollment growth strategies.
• Develops and implements a daily practice plan to ensure proper preparation for intercollegiate competition.
• Provides contest preparation by scouting opponents.
• Promotes the visions and values of Albertus Magnus College by emphasizing the experience and education of each student-athlete as the most important component of intercollegiate athletic participation.
• Provides a year-round strength and conditioning program tailored towards the individual sport.

Qualifications and Education:

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Two or more years of demonstrated, successful experience working in intercollegiate athletics and/or related areas such as admissions, advising, or student success.  

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated experience as an administrator, athlete, or coach of the sport.
• Knowledge of NCAA Division III rules and regulations, including compliance.
• Familiarity/competency with EAB Navigate and SLATE admissions software.
• A demonstrated commitment to the NCAA Division III philosophy regarding the student-athlete experience.

Work Schedule Requirements:Hybrid work options are available after successfully completing 90 days of employment.
