Position Description:

The Head Women�s Rugby Coach provides essential support to the Women�s Rugby program, primarily focused on recruiting, retention and athlete support during competitions and practices. This seasonal position requires weekend travel with the team along with daily requirements for practice.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Competition Support (Primary Focus):
    • Travel with team to weekend competitions throughout the season.
    • Prepare and lead daily practices.
    • Identify and attract qualified student athletes to Paul Smith�s College.
    • Help organize and execute tournaments and games when Paul Smith's College hosts competitions.
    • Lead conditioning and training activities during the off season.
    • Help maintain training equipment and facilities.

  • General Responsibilities:
    • Ensure athlete safety during all activities.
    • Foster a positive, inclusive team environment.
    • Communicate effectively with athletes and athletics administration.
    • Maintain confidentiality of student information in accordance with FERPA guidelines.
    • Support the academic success and personal development of student-athletes.
    • Represent Paul Smith's College professionally at all team functions.

Qualifications and Preferences:

  • Required:
    • Experience in Rugby (playing, coaching, or high-level recreational participation).
    • Ability to work weekends and travel with the team during competition season.
    • Valid driver's license and ability to drive college vehicles.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Commitment to student-athlete development and safety.
