McCallie GPS Aquatics is a growing competitive swim program dedicated to developing swimmers of all levels—from beginners to advanced athletes—while fostering sportsmanship, discipline, and a positive team culture. We are seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic Part-Time Swimming Coach to join our coaching staff.


The Part-Time Swimming Coach will work directly with swimmers to develop stroke technique, endurance, race strategy, and overall competitive performance. This role requires prior competitive swimming experience and/or coaching experience, along with strong leadership and communication skills. 


Typical Practice Schedule:

Monday 5:30-7:30 p.m.

Tuesday 5:30-7:30 p.m. 

Wednesday 6:00-7:30 p.m. 

Friday 5:30-7:00 p.m.

Saturday 10:00-11:30 a.m.


This is a part-time hourly position with scheduling that will include evenings and weekends. It is considered non-exempt under the FLSA, and it is not eligible for benefits.


Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and lead swim practices for assigned training groups
  • Provide technical instruction in all four competitive strokes, starts, and turns
  • Develop season training plans in collaboration with the Head Coach
  • Offer constructive feedback to swimmers to improve performance
  • Promote a safe, positive, and team-oriented training environment
  • Attend swim meets as scheduled and assist with race preparation and athlete support
  • Communicate effectively with swimmers, parents, and coaching staff
  • Ensure compliance with all safety and organizational policies
Requirements
  • Competitive swimming experience (high school, club, collegiate, or higher) and/or prior swim coaching experience
  • Strong knowledge of stroke mechanics, training methods, and race strategies
  • Ability to motivate and positively engage athletes of varying skill levels
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Deep understanding of, support for, and desire to live out McCallie’s mission for the good of McCallie boys - including both the school’s Christian foundation and its commitment to the ideals of honor, truth, and duty

Preferred:

  • Previous experience coaching age group or competitive swimmers
  • Lifeguard, CPR, and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain)
  • USA Swimming certification (or willingness to obtain)
